Dear Violet,
I received a text today from Carole King to tell me that George has died peacefully and I want to send to you and your extended family my deepest sympathy and love at this very sad time for you all. George was a wonderful Christian man who served God so faithfully and even when not well, over the past few years, he still came to worship most Sundays and sang with the men's group whenever he could. He will be greatly missed by you and everyone in the Windsor church family but please rejoice in that he is now with the Lord, with no more suffering and is at peace with his Heavenly Father. George ran with God the race of life - well done you good and faithful servant.

Dear Violet,
We’re so sad circumstances have prevented us from joining with you to celebrate George’s life and accomplishments.

To say George has left an endearing mark upon our family is an understatement; his active interest in Jane’s family, and his wonderful friendship over the many Men & Mates activities (especially kitchen duties on the Men & Mates ‘vegetable-free’ weekends in Wanaka, and active inspiration with the Windsor Church International Men’s Choir) will leave a lasting impression upon us all.

I remain humbled by George’s stalwart Christian example, of his active faith.

Thank you George!

Nice to see George's photo working on his stamps. George was an important member of the local stamp club. I remember talking with him when he was thinking about starting a stamp exhibit about George VI stamps of Rhodesia. He reached great heights, even being awarded a trip to England to further his research on the subject. He also collected the picture postcards of E T Brown, the most famous of which is a dead crocodile with a man's body being removed from its stomach. R IP George.

Dear Violet & family
Sorry for your loss. I got to know George through my dad, Ian, & Windsor Community Church. George will be missed but remembered for his general enthusiasm for Jesus, fellowship & stamps. I remember seeing one of his stamp exhibits when it was in Taradale. I was sorry to learn of his illness and recent passing.
Thoughts & prayers as you adjust to the gap left in George’s “falling asleep”.
