Dorothy was a warm and wonderful person, and she and her family were always great friends to my own. I always loved when Dorothy and Jim would stop by our house in Otatara for a hot drink and a chat with my parents, almost always staying longer than they had planned, and most definitely making the day a better one by visiting. The world has lost a kind and generous soul that will be sorely missed by so many Rest in peace, dear Mrs. Young. Xx

Dear Young families, our deepest sympathy to you all at the passing of your beloved mother. Dorothy was one of the kindest, lovely person we have met. Her happy smiling nature was a joy to be part of. We loved meeting all the family over the years and being part of your activities. Sorry we will be unable to join you tomorrow, but our thoughts will be with you all. Shona and Colin Wallace

Dorothy was an extra special person. Along with Jim, she was a true friend to our family. The world is a poorer place without them in it. We are so thankful for them. Rest in peace Dorothy, and thank you for your friendship and the kindness you always showed our family.

To the Young family. My deepest condolences. I am honoured to have known such a wonderful person,, there are not enough words in a dictionary to express your mother, the warmth she has spread throughout her life and love is just a blessing. May she rest in peace and in the arms of her beloved husband and joined by Christine and Graham.
