Passed away suddenly at home, surrounded by family, on Tuesday 2nd April 2024.

Dearly loved husband of Rayna for 67 years.

Dearly loved father and father of Ronald and Vivien. Dearly loved Grandad of Jamie and Cristy, Kasey and Greg, and Steven.

Loved Great grandfather of the late Sienna, Sabella, Jack, Malin and Piper. Loved son of the late Lewis and Winifred Whelan.

Loved brother and brother in law of Allan* and Margaret*, Gordon*, Mervyn* and Elvie*, Ronald*, Noeline* and Leo* Scott, Beverley and Ian* Taylor.

Loved brother in law and friend of the Ellis family.

Loved Uncle of his nieces and nephews.

Family sincerely thank the staff of Hospice Southland and St John for their care and support of Doug.

As per Doug’s wishes a private service has been held.
