I am sad to read of Mata's passing. I will always remember Mata for his big smile and cheeky comments when we worked together at Air NZ.

It was with much sadness that I learned of Mata's passing. I had the priviledge of working with him when we worked at Air New Zealand together many years ago at Invercargill Airport. He was always smiling, and had a very pleasant disposition towards all his peers. Mata was well liked and was fondly remembered as "Mr Mugabe" amongst his working colleagues. Rest in peace my friend, you will be sadly missed. I extend my sincere condolences to his Family at this difficult time.

Mata, you were a very treasured friend for over 60 years. Back "in the day" we all had so many great times together, although we may not have seen a lot of each other over the past years we always kept in touch and I have been sharing so many lovely memories with a few of the other oldies that are still around! I always treasured your friendship we had lovely times at parties, dances etc you were by miles the best dancer around! I know how proud you were of your family and grandchildren but they are also a big credit to you. Rest easy my friend you will be so fondly remembered by many of us - you can shed tears that he is gone or you can smile because he has lived RIP

I am sorry to hear of Mata's passing. I used to clean for him and always enjoyed a chat with him. He was a very likeable man who loved his family.

I am so very sad to hear of Matas passing. I worked for many years with Mata and have many fond memories of fun times. He called me the old Dragon and when I recently went to visit him in hospital my daughter and i took him paua patties. He laughed and said its the two dragons. He had his humor even when so sick.
Memories are forever. Rest in Peace my friend and thank you for the memories.
