Cara will be sorely missed by her QCONZ colleagues and students. An incredibly passionate advocate within our vocational education industry and relied on for prodding us all in the right direction. She accomplished much with her wit and steadfast loyalty. My condolences to Owen and family. A great loss of a wonderful woman.

I first met Cara as a first year teacher on my first day over 30 years ago.

Cara helped me through those first years and later on even when I was in another school.

After leaving teaching to become an Agricultural Tutor, I realised that Cara would love this job also.

She joined us as a Tutor and showed the dedication, and determination to improve the resources, assessments and so much more.

Since that first day, so long ago I have always had the greatest respect for Cara’s professionalism and enthusiasm towards her students, to developing the resources and assessments that we all use.

We all will miss her greatly.

A sad loss, and the spoken and written tributes by friends, colleagues and family, attest to her being a remarkable woman. Outwardly quiet, she obviously contributed hugely to the separate worlds of science education and equestrian events, even combining them in latter years. A life well lived, but cut short too soon. Sincere condolences to all the family,
Ken & Amanda Bowie., Invercargill
