I'm grateful to be able to attend the service virtually. I knew Isi from my time as CEO of the YMCA Tauranga. I joined the Y in 2008 and first met her in Gisborne at a CE's meeting shortly after I started. She was sitting with Leigh when I first walked in. I'm not sure she knew what to make of this outgoing American but she was helpful from the start. I always appreciated her straightforward, down-to-earth, and grounded approach. The education expert of the YMCA, her reach was far and wide. She was responsible for helping so many. She was a great support during my time at the Y and I just adored her radiant smile. I was saddened to hear this news. I hope that the wonderful memories of Isi help to bring peace to all who loved her.

To Isi Whānau

Tonight I found out Isi's had died. My plan this weekend was to ring her this weekend to wish Isi a pre-happy wish.

My thoughts are with her sons and their partners. Isi's brothers and sisters. Isi's grandchildren that she loved so fiercely and of course her nieces and nephews who she had so much time for.

She was so proud of her children and for me a very loyal friend.

Thank you Isi for your friendship - the long chats and the evenings we shared bluff oysters.

Take Care Isi's Whānau

Many happy memories of Issi from her time in Scotland more than 50 years ago where we lived near each other and connected through the rugby club. We celebrated all the Royal family weddings together with a bacon roll no matter which country either of us were in, that and big rugby matches. Also enjoyed meeting many of her family both in UK and NZ especially her Mum at my daughter’s christening in Edinburgh more than 30 years ago. My mind is just so full of happy memories just now, RIP my dear friend and thoughts are with her boys and families. Thank you Kyle for getting in touch with me xx
