Grant was one of my best mates.
We walked a lot of miles in the bush and caught plenty of pigs. We used to talk about everything and solved the world's problems on many occasions. His humor was infectious and he was one of the hardest working men I know. One of life's characters. I'm going to miss him and am gutted I can't be there with you all, as I'm currently in Ireland.
My love and thoughts to all Grant's family and friends. Jake

He was a great guy suggested giving his daughter a commission to paint me. This is still proudly hanging on my wall.
Enjoyed a lot of different things with him.
Sincere sympathy we will all miss him

I met Grant at Longburn freezing works in 1978 and with our passion for the outdoors we formed a common bond, we hunted in the Manawatu, Wairarapa, Whanganui regions to start then later into the Taranaki, Nelson, and Marlborough regions then more recently to the South, it was always an adventure and a lot of humour.
Grants love of a story or a quip (one liners), when one hit the spot, that deep and genuine hearty laugh will never be forgotten.
For a person that WWW. stood for World, Wide Waste of time, he certainly spent a massive amount of time looking for that deal to get the things he required.
He was a family man, friend to all, stockman, shepherd, Farmer, fencer, hunter, fisherman, builder, saw miller and a very genuine honest bloke that would turn his hand to anything.
One of his greatest attributes, he was resourceful, he bought his farm with hard work and no family money, he provided for his family running the farm, contract fencing and assisting others along the way for the odd favour. He was always there to meet the school bus, be on the school committees, parent help at camps and put the family tea on.
Grant, you will be missed by a lot, life for me would not have been the same without you and I will always remember you, Kia Kaha my friend.

We found Grant a very friendly helpful person - a great asset at docking time (lambs). Myself (Jill) we had a lot in common with our interest in the Suffolk sheep, Jill and Jim Wills, Taranaki
