Dear Wendy and Family
Liz and I were very sad to learn from Bruce McK that John had passed away. We knew that John had been sick for some time. Nevertheless these things come as a shock and bring a real sense of loss. We are planning to watch the service on line.
I clearly remember some early family gatherings and the debates between John and Dad about politics and other risky topics that would be taboo today! Later on when I was at Environment Southland I became much more aware of John's amazing service to the farming community in the Waiau Catchment.
Much more recently Liz and I fondly remember catching up with you both when you were visiting family in Nelson as well as cousin's gatherings in Invercargill.
Our love to you all.
Liz & Lindsay McKenzie, Richmond
