Messages

Kathryn and Boys, so sad to hear of Puk's death in the prime of life. Always enjoyed our banter years ago while I had time with you. Sending Condolences and Loving Thoughts to you all.
Sharyn Whyte, Dipton
My deepest sympathies on your sudden loss. I was privileged to share Iain's passion for Southland military history, and I greatly admired his commitment to identifying solders' images from a century ago. I was lucky to have known him as a good friend. He was self-effacing about his campaign to remember our Southland Soldiers and Nurses, but his tireless work was significant in ensuring that the local veterans of the Great War will not be forgotten. Southland has lost a true treasure.
Aaron Fox, Bunnythorpe, Palmerston North
We are so sorry to hear of Iain’s passing.
A few years back we worked on the Wilson dairy farm just over the road from Iain and his family. While we lived in hokonui Iain would drop orphan lambs off to Adrian and myself and our two daughters every few days to raise every lambing season.
We have very fond memories of these time and our chats with Iain.
Now many years later Kathryn is teaching our son Jett.
We are sending all our thoughts and love to you Mrs D and the boys.

Dear Kathryn, Sam, Ben, Luke, and Joel. It was with great sadness and sorrow that we learnt of the passing of Ian the other day. He was a unique man in his own right and lived life to the full. I remember the days when we played rugby for Central Star and the times afterwards socialliasing. They were fun times. Please except our deepest condolences and sympathies from mum and myself
