RILEY Joy

Unexpectedly, but peacefully passed away at Vickery Court on Monday 27th November 2023, aged 93 years.

After a full and happy life married to Owen for 72 years, six children, twenty grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren.

Dearly loved mother and mother in law of Neil and Lyn, Stacie and Lindsay Dow, Andrew and Yvonne (Brisbane), Hugh and Wendy, Clayton* and Barb, and Justin and Moira.

Joy was dearly loved and will be missed by her siblings and a much loved Aunt of her nieces and nephews of the Blomfield and Riley families, and survived by Sue and Steve.

Family wish to sincerely thank the staff at Vickery Court and Walmsley House for their loving care of Joy and Owen.

A service to celebrate Joy’s life will be held on Friday 1st December 2023 at 1pm, J Fraser and Sons Chapel, Corner Esk and Doon Streets Invercargill.  Private interment at Forest Hill Cemetery will follow.

Aunty Joy, I have lasting memories from my early days, you have always been a steady and guiding light, your wisdom and humour has an everlasting memory for me and I still recall our fun very large family gatherings and your faultless piano playing.
