All I wanna say is that he was a very loving and amazing grandpa, even though I didn’t get to see him and speak to him that much I still loved him in my heart, and it was very hard for me when he passed but I love him no matter what. Love Phoenix.

I loved my time working with Alan in Rotary. He epitomised everything a Rotarian strives for and to be and was an inspiration to all he came in contact with. Rest in Peace my friend, you have done the hard yards.
Ian Beker, Invercargill
Love you Alan, you are missed dearly and your memory treasured . You left the world a better place! You are a cheeky prankster and thank you for all the fond memories.
Belinda Allen, Bellingham
Alan was one of the friends who always supported and encouraged young men to pursue themselves beyond their limits. During our weekly coffee time at Tay Street corner cafe, he used to talk about his vision for the Invercargill city and how the people can get a flourishing community for the future generations. His initiation of the vision for the Invercargill Estuary waterfront was a pioneering step for the citizens of the city. His contribution to the city will always be remembered. God bless his departed soul, and we all will miss him.
