SPENCER, Marie Elizabeth (nee Kells)  27/5/55 - 25/01/24

It is with great sadness and a broken heart I share with you that my wife of 48 years has fallen asleep peacefully at home surrounded by her family, after her courageous battle with cancer. Marie has been a wonderful wife to Alistair and much loved mother and mother in law to Sharyn & Mark, Amanda & Hamish, Janene & Paul, Bradley & Esther. She has also been a caring and doting Nana to Levi, Jade, Natalya, Jacob, Toby, Sophie, Lucas, Sally, Scarlett, Harper, Asher and wee Charlotte.  Many thanks to the staff in the Surgical, Medical and Rehab wards at Southland Hospital and also to the District Nurses and Hospice team.

"Even so, come Lord Jesus"

A service for Marie will be held in J Fraser and Sons Chapel, Cnr Esk and Doon Streets, Invercargill on Wednesday, January 31 at 1.30pm. Messages to 1 McStay Road, Rimu RD 11, Invercargill 9877

So very sad to hear of the loss of Marie. I have very fond memories of visiting all of the family in Invercargill and very grateful that I took the opportunity to do that. Thinking of you all at this time.

We are very saddened to hear this sad news. Marie was a lovely lady in every way. I have some fun filled memories of her at a Rimu School camp in Dunedin. She had a wonderful community spirit and loved her family very much. Our deepest sympathy to you all.

Dear Alistair and family. We are sad to hear of your loss. Marie will always be remembered for her love, kindness and caring for others. She so loved all her family and you will all miss her terribly. We pray you all will be comforted in the knowledge that she is asleep in the hope we all share, and she will rise again. With much love to you all. David and Jenny

Dear Alistair and Families,
Thinking of you at this difficult time.
Marie has fought the good fight, finished the race, kept the faith, and now there is in store for her the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to her on that day with all who have longed for his appearing.
God be with you and comfort you on this next stage in life.
Love from Lyall, Ngarita and family.
