Eddie was the Principal at Clarendon School during the years our three sons attended there. He always met us with a smile, even years later when we'd see him when he was busy with the Rotary Book Sale. Whilst serving on the School Council with him, his help and guidance was invaluable. Our deepest sympathy to his family. Our thoughts are with you.

Dear Annette and Philip, Lockie and Louise. Chum has been a generational friend. Chum and Bruce were friends as boys and their friendship continued into adulthood, when he and Shirley, and Bruce and Helen had their families. Their children, our generation, have always been friends too. Even if we haven't seen each other for years, it is so easy to pick up again. The family holidays we had up in Central Otago were so much a part of our lives, as kids, floating down the river on lilos, camping, playing rounders. Chum has been a friend to the next generation too, coming to birthday parties and other gatherings. To us all, you Bremers are family. Chum was dearly loved and will be missed by us all xxxx

I was lucky enough to teach at Clarendon School during Eddie's time as principal there. Eddie was a modest, quietly spoken man and a supportive and understanding leader. We appreciated Eddie's friendly personality and respected his judgement and wisdom. It was a real pleasure to work with such a considered, ethical and caring leader.

Eddie was a dearly loved cousin of Norma ( my mother) and Joan Campbell.
I had the pleasure of speaking with him and hearing family tales of their childhood at Greenhills, almost a year ago, when I asked Eddie to speak at Joan's funeral.
My sympathy to his family, and to Joy, Doug and Roy.
