To Bruce, Russell and families, my sympathy and thoughts go to you all. Shirley has been my neighbour for a number of years. A quiet person but a good neighbour. She was a beautiful and talented artist always wanting to show me each new one completed. She was always wanting to learn new techniques and only days before she went to hospital said I have at last mastered the art of painting with acrylics. She had also made some lovely quilted quilts and the one on her bed is just beautiful. Being a crafts person myself I appreciate her crafts and talents. I will miss our chats but know she is now at peace now. Love to you all

To Bruce, Russell and family, I was sad to hear of Shirley's passing yesterday. Its been a long time since we touched base but I have many great memories from my childhood of visiting you all and of the fun we had at Mararoa Station, and your visits to us in Dunedin. I remember Shirley as a thoughtful soft spoken and caring and smart person. I last saw Shirley at Verns Funeral and I remember her as not having changed at all.
Thoughts with you at this sad time, regards, Mark Bradley your cousin.

To Bruce Russell and family,
My sympathy and thoughts are with you at this sad time.
I have had some lovely times with Shirley and she has helped me master the finer
Points in patchwork.
She visited only six months ago and we seen her again the next day having coffee
With Bruce.
