This is sad news. I was a work colleague of Maurice at Harvey Farms and Inghams many years ago. Maurice was a larger than life character and one of the memorable characters of my working life.

Very sad news. Maurice was a work colleague with the Southland Demonstration Farm and then the Southern Dairy Hub. He was great fun and always ready for some banter. Very clever and his knowledge and skill set will be missed. Family was always important and he always talked fondly about them all. He was very proud of the beautiful home he designed. Rest easy Maurice.

So incredibly sad to hear of Maurice’s passing. My deepest sympathies to Di Bob and the Hardie family. Having done a lot of work for Maurice over the years. He always enquired about how things were going and what my family etc were up to. It was never entirely about business I will sadly miss our chats about life. A great man with a huge heart and a great loss
Scott Anderson, Invercargill
I always enjoyed my conversations with Maurice during our involvement with the Southland Demonstration farm. He was a very intelligent man, I enjoyed learning from him. My thoughts are with Maurice’s family
Tony Miles , Invercargill
I was very sad to hear Maurice had passed away. I worked with Maurice for three years on the design, development, and financing of SDH. Greatly enjoyed working with him. Always fun to work with, challenging in a respectful way and very smart . SDH would never have happened without him. Rest in peace Maurice, you will be remembered and missed. I will especially miss our political banter!
My condolences and sincerest sympathies to the Hardie family.
Kim Mashlan, Onemana
Such sad news and my condolences to Maurice’s family. In my time with Fonterra I had many meetings with Maurice, he was very intellectual and an astute businessman but always humble and a great mentor who will be missed. RIP Maurice.
Michael Blomfield , Riverton
I don't know if Maurice would of thanked me when I shoulder tapped him to come on board to help complete the SDHub concept. But those broad shoulders carried a huge load. Always a sharp thinker though he liked being cryptic to keep you on your toes. You've left an amazing legacy Maurice with the projects and people you've been involved with. You will be greatly missed. RiP.
