From one shocking pink sister to another. Saddened to read of the loss of a loved mother, wife, daughter and friend of many. Too young taken too soon!

My beautiful friend - I miss you more than words can say. I think of you everyday and my heart is broken. They say “time heals” - but I am saddened more everyday that you are no longer here. Thanks for the flowers - I know it was you - love you forever. Thank you for being my friend xx

Rana, I was talking to my mum the other day as I was supposed to be playing basketball up in Tauranga but I had injured myself and couldn’t play so wanted to let her know and she told me of Kate’s passing. I went through my Southland basketball photos and shed a tear as I looked through them all. I let the memories of playing with Kate and against her wash over me. I was always impressed with her abilities and how much you supported her. You were such a great mum. Although we haven’t kept in touch in these later years, my memories of the good times we shared still remain and I can remember them like yesterday. Time may dull those but it won’t take them away. As a mum of five, my heart goes out to Kate’s girls. I am sure you will help them remember their mum and what a legend she was. I am praying for you all. With much love, Megan Elmiger née Walsh (basketball buddy)
