Sutherland Neil James. Peacefully in the loving care of Bupa Ascot on 14 May 2019, surrounded by the love of his family. In his 91st year. Beloved husband for 65 years of Muriel. Loving father and father in law of Chrissy and Marcus Karaitiana; Kevin and Ann; Peter and Tracy Taylor; Donna and Wayne Patrick; Anthony and Kimerly. Much loved Poppa Neil of Arnya, Leeza, Emma, Libby, Paula, Lyall, Hamish, James, Coran, Lissy, Clark and very proud Poppa of all his great grandchildren. Neil is also survived by siblings, Bruce, Jean and Flora. Messages to Muriel Sutherland C/- Ascot Bupa, 149 Racecourse Rd, Invercargill 9810. Online tributes may be left at frasersfunerals.co.nz A Requiem Mass for Neil will be celebrated at St Mary’s Basilica, Tyne St Invercargill on Friday 17  May 2019 commencing at 2.00pm. His interment will follow at Eastern Cemetery.

So sorry to hear of your sad loss of Neil. I lived next door to him in Te Anau and have many fond memories of chats and visits with him and Muriel. We of course have one of his famous wooden wheelbarrow planters and a black and white windmill cat that everytime the wind blows his legs I think of Neil and his always smiling happy face. He will always be fondly remembered by us. Our love to Muriel who must be lost without him. Kind Regards.

We are sad to hear of the passing of Uncle Neil and extend our sumpathies to Aunty Muriel and our cousins, Chrissy, Kevin, Peter, Donna and Anthony and their families, I can still hear his wicked laugh and see him striding down the paddocks.
