Mr Verrall was a great Teacher and an inspiration too me during the time I was a student at Kingswell High School in Invercargill. He was a Mentor too me and gave me a love of History that has lasted for life. My thoughts are with the Verrall Family at this sad time. From David Clode.

Heartfelt condolences on your loss. The picture you chose is exactly how I remember him as a teacher at Kingswell High school. He was a wonderful person who had a kind and quiet manner who would treat and talk to you as an equal and as my brother said "was the best rugby coach he ever had". As we lived around the corner from your home in Pomona Street in Invercargill, he was always taking Ayesha out for a walk. I don't know if it was because she was hard to get to sleep or he just loved doing it. I think it was the latter. I am sure that even tho your heart is breaking that the many memories that you have all created as a family will always be eternal

Very saddened to hear of Bill's sudden passing & apologies for missing his farewell celebration today!
Quite often bumped into Bill for a chat when he was on fishing expeditions while I was working in Fiordland National Park as a hut & track ranger and while he was employed as a campsite & Milford Road Ranger. & around town.
We will certainly miss his friendly smiley face.
Wishing you love, hugs and strength.
