THOMAS Margaret Frances (nee Kokay)

Unexpectedly passed away at Southland Hospital with her family by her side, on Thursday 10th April 2025, aged 78 years.

Loved daughter of Steve and Connie Kokay.

Wife of the late Barry Thomas.

Loved Mother and mother in law of Katrina and James, Glenn and Tracy, and Suzzanne and Shane.

Loved Nanna Thomas of Stephen, Sarah, Andy; Jed, Flynn and Bree; and Lachlan; Loved Great Nanna Thomas of Katie, Jayden, Bailey, Annabelle, Jack, Madison, Sophie, Lee*, Izahbella, Carson, and Lincoln.

Loved sister and sister in law of Verona, Les and Chris, and Ilona.

Loved Aunty of all her nieces and nephews.

‘A cherished and valuable member of the Tuatapere community’.

Donations to St John would be greatly appreciated and can be left at her service.

A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held on Tuesday 15th April 2025, 1pm in Waiau Town and Country Club, Tuatapere.  Interment at Tuatapere Cemetery will follow.

It was with great sadness that I heard of the passing of Margaret.
Margaret and I spent some of our teenage year’s together she boarded with my family while attending James Hargest High School and spent holidays with us at Stewart Island.Margaret and I also spent a summer holiday working at Ferndale Hotel on the Island. A treasured friend.
Having followed her on FB I know what a wonderful Mother and Grandmother she was so my thoughts are with you and her wider family Verona Lesley and Ilona.
