I have such fond memories of Uncle Neil, especially from childhood visits and more recently on my last trip home to New Zealand. He had a strong, steady presence that made you feel safe and supported—but what I’ll remember most is that cheeky grin and his knack for making people smile. Whether it was a quiet joke or a warm laugh, he always found a way to lift the mood. He was one of those rare souls who made life feel lighter, just by being in the room. Uncle Neil will be deeply missed, but his kindness and humour live on in all of us who were lucky enough to know him.

I’m sorry I can’t be there to celebrate his life with family. My thoughts are with you all during this sad time. May Uncle Neil rest in peace, and may the memories of him continue to live on in all of us..

To Sylvia and family,
Please accept our sympathies and the loss of your Neil. You both were so kind to my Mother, Joyce when she lived in Alice Street.
Memories are special.

So sorry to hear of Neil’s passing. Such a great sense of humour, he was fun to be around. Such a great cousin.
I’m not able to attend things so much these days, so I can’t be at the funeral, but my thoughts and love are with you.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Uncle Neil’s passing, and I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to Aunt Sylvia land the whole family.
Uncle Neil lived a long and meaningful life, and I will always carry fond memories of him. I remember joyful Christmases we shared as families, his quirky sense of humour always lit up the room.
I’m especially grateful for the love and care he and Aunt Sylvia gave me after my mother — his sister — passed away so young. Their kindness during that time, especially in helping my dad care for me while he worked, left an impression. It meant more than words can ever express.
I’m so sorry I won’t be able to attend the funeral in person, but please know that my thoughts will be with you all. I’ll be remembering Uncle Neil with deep affection and heartfelt gratitude.

Neil was an experienced and capable accountant and, later, a very useful mediator.
Always a gentleman, he had a modest and engaging demeanour and was a pleasure to deal with.

Sadness for Sylvia and Family, Relief for Neil, We got to know each other quite well on The Earl Street Charitable Trust Board (Queenstown). His accounting and mediating skills were not only underrated but very substantial contributing to its on going success.
I missed him when he retired and always enjoyed our talks especially regarding his travels. You well deserve a well earned "rest" Neil
