That has invoked memories of decades ago in a wee house in Bligh St.....😍
It’s with deep sadness that I read of dear Barbara’s sudden passing..
A true lady and a lady who showed true empathy and kindness towards others, which my family witnessed first hand in our time of severe tragedy.
A true friend and an absolute lady..
Barbara will be truly missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.

Blair and I were in disbelief when we heard of Barbara’s death. I am so sorry for you, the girls and their families.
We started our married lives together in Dunedin with you and Barbara, and had some enjoyable some memorable times, that you, Mervyn, will remember.
I was very fond of my cousin Barbara, though not seeing her often in later life. I was also very appreciative of her kindness and empathy she showed my late mother, Elza, when she was in Riverton retirement home.
Mervyn, you were a great husband to Barbara. We hope to catch up with you over this coming summer, and if you are in Queenstown, we would love you to make contact
with us.
Please convey to the girls and their families my utmost sympathy.

She brought her "Barbara" touch to everything and was able to bring beauty to the simplest of things. She will be missed by many.
Bless her and bless all of you,
Sending our love,

My childhood memories have come flowing back of the many happy days had at Gala St & Riverton with Barbara and all the Pierce clan.
My cousin was a beautiful, kind and loving person - love from "Custard".
A class act and exemplar for the next generation. A generous community leader, sharing her master gardener knowledge, Riverton beautification and the program of numerous volunteer activities in which she quietly engaged. Leading by example a lost art of citizenship.
We are all better off for having had her touch our lives.
May you all find comfort and peace in the treasured memories.. X
R.I.P. Barbara 🙏
