I was very sad to hear of Dave’s passing.
Dave was one of life’s gentlemen. Just a good kiwi bloke
In all my time on the railways I never heard anyone say a bad word about Dave. Just admiration for an honest, hard working railwayman who got on with mostly everyone.
One of his favourite saying “Well, I’ll go to the pictures!” still makes the rounds at KiwiRail when workmates talk of him.
Rest In Peace Dave.
My condolences to Mary and the Henry whanau.
Mark Burton, Invercargill
