Johnston, Philip John (Phil) 1966-2025. It is with much heartbreak that we announce the sudden passing of Phil due to a medical event on 23 December 2025. Much loved “gorgeous guy” and soul mate of Anna and cherished bonus dad of Ruby. Loved father of Kady and Abbey. Beloved son of Irene and Graham and brother of Tania, Russell and Raewyn, dearly loved son-in-law, uncle and cousin. A very special Big Buddy to Abel. A service to celebrate Phil’s life will be held at the Ascot Park Hotel, Invercargill, on Monday December 29, at 11.30am. Private thereafter. Messages to 164A Chelmsford Street, Invercargill 9810, or to Phil’s tribute page at frasersfunerals.co.nz/tributes where livestream details are available.

Deepest Sympathy to Phil’s family through this hard time.
Absolute one of the greats with the whistle in hand. Loved having him patrol my games for Edendale with plenty of advice and cheek .
Rest in peace Phil.
