To Iona, Barbara and families
I am saddened to see that a " Great Man of the Land" has passed.

I remember well the quiet manner, that Ian imparted to the chaos of tailings at "Matangi".
Ian's calm manner and experience made the day (s) tailing run smoothly,
Ian's Favorite brand of whisky was on hand at the end of tailing, if you were invited to indulge, Ian's way of saying that you did a good job!
As our Māori friends would say: "A Mighty Totara has Fallen"!
Behind every "Top man" is a "Top Woman" and Ian and Jennifer were a great couple.
Rest easy my friend!
cheers
Anthony Ferguson
