BLACK Julie Maxine (nee Boniface)

10th August 1969 – 21st January 2026

Unexpectedly passed away in the late evening of Tuesday 21st of January 2026, at the Emergency Department, Southland Hospital.

Dearly loved mother of Matthew, cherished mother-in-law of Tessa, and adored Nanny of Sophie and Emily.

Much loved sister of Philip, and loved daughter of the late Joan and the late William.

Julie was well known and fondly remembered in the motorbike and stock car communities, where she spent many years catering and running the family food van. Known for her cheeky smile, bubbly personality, and big heart, Julie had a special way of making everyone feel welcome.

Julie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

A Memorial service to celebrate Julie’s life will be held at J Fraser and Sons Chapel, on Saturday 31st January, at 11.00am.

Julie my cousin, you will be missed by us all. Always full of life and cheek. You were always the first to wish us a happy day. I'm lucky you shared your family with us with visits to Bluff. You always visited mum who loved your updates. Our family has lost a true gem of this world. We will watch over Matt, Tess and the girls and Phillip for you. Now back with your much loved mum Joan and Dad Bill. Im pleased your adventurist self achieved many things off your bucket list. Much love.
