Very saddened to hear of Martin's passing. He was a kind, patient mentor to me in the elusive art of thoroughbred breeding. I will remember with great fondness our long conversations on pedigrees and stallion choices. Martin was an absolute colossus on thoroughbred breeding and his lifetime work in this area leaves an enormous legacy. You will linger long in my memory. Rest in peace my friend.

We were very sorry to read of Martin’s passing. He was just a few months younger than me and we were raised on neighbouring farms, Joe eventually buying my father’s farm from Owen Perkins.
Our sincere condolences to all of you and we will be watching the funeral on line.
