Geoff, Hannah and Zoe.   I am devastated at the passing of your beloved wife and devoted mother.    She was my Soul Sister.    Nicola was so proud of her daughters Hannah and Zoe and spoke about you often.      We had so many wonderful conversations at various cafes where we laughed and cried and solved life problems.   The world was a better place with Nicola in it.   She was the best listener, intelligent and empathic, plus a wonderful sense of humor.  She was one classy lady.    I will carry Nicola in my heart forever.   Rip Soul Sister Angel, Nicola.  You leave a huge gap in all who loved and cared for you.      Sending your family love and support!    Lyndal Roe

I am so very sad and shocked to hear of the loss of this beautiful lady. I treasure the time I spent working with her in the Playcentre Association Office, and her awesome sense of humor. She loved her family above all else, and I send you all my very sincere condolances.

Nicola was one of those rare people — articulate and thoughtful, with a dry wit that never missed its mark. She had a quiet loyalty about her, the kind you could always rely on without needing to question it.

We first met at IRD on 6 January 1984, when five new cadets arrived, stepping into something completely unknown. From that very beginning, there was an ease to her — steady, grounded, and unmistakably herself.

Nicola was also pretty good at euchre — something we proved day in and day out, with our "teatable" playing every morning and afternoon tea for years. Those games, filled with quiet competition and plenty of laughter, are memories I will always hold close.

What always stood out most was that no matter how much time passed, or how long it had been since we last spoke, we would pick up exactly where we left off. No fuss, no catching up required — just that same connection, unchanged.

I will miss her always.
Much love to Geoff and your two beauitful girls, Hannah and Zoe, your Mum was the best.

A belated message to Geoff and whānau. I only spoke with Nicola a few times, bonding over our love of cinema and stories. Seeing her turn up to screenings was always a joy as you knew she appreciated cinema at it's finest. I'm so sorry for your loss and sending much aroha to you.
