Passed away peacefully at Rowena Jackson Retirement Home, Invercargill, on Thursday 13 August 2026, aged 94.
Beloved wife of the late Bryon.
Much loved and respected mother and mother-in-law of Wayne* and Bronwyn (Invercargill), Neil and Kate (Invercargill), Wendy and Peter (Cromwell), and Stewart *. Special friend of Anne-Marie (Invercargill).
Val was a special “wee Nana” to her grandchildren: Daniel and Kate, Richard and Kate, Katherine and Aidan, Margot and Brandon, Sarah and Simon, Rachel and Mark, Matthew and Samantha, Ryan and Sarah, Jacob and Natasha. She was a great-grandmother to 19 great-grandchildren.
Loving sister and sister-in-law to Athol* and Edna, Heather* and Bob*, Murray* and Jenny*, Gary* and Helen, Keith and Ann.
A service to celebrate Val’s life will be held on Wednesday August 19 at 11.00am, at the Presbyterian Church, 11 Meldrum Street, Winton. The family warmly invite you thereafter to join them for light refreshments in the Church lounge. This will be followed by a burial at the East Winton Cemetery.
Val’s family would like to acknowledge and thank all the carers at Rowena Jackson for their care and support during her time there.
