Unexpectedly at Southland Hospital, on August 26, 2026, aged 84 years.
Treasured daughter of Dick* and Dorothy* (Dorrie) Wilks (née Hibbs) and loved sister of Robin Wilks.
Beloved wife of Hoeta* (Dick) Simeon, married for 34 years until his passing in 1995.
Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Hoeta and Jackie Simeon (Australia), Manu and Marie Simeon (Invercargill), Pania and Russell Coote (Bluff), Aorangi and Michael Black (Bluff), Nepia and Wendy Simeon (Invercargill), Rewa and Allan Shearer (Invercargill), Terina Simeon (Bluff).
A devoted tāua to Riki Simeon, Joel Simeon, Haylee Simeon, Casey Black, Rata Shearer, Tane Simeon, Becky Simeon, Sharn Coote, Nepia Simeon, Tiriana Shearer, Joesph Black, Rhys Coote, Kyle Simeon, Georgia Simeon, Zara Simeon, Jayden Black, Aroha Black, Nikola Taylor, Hope Taylor, Jezne Saville, Kassidy Saville and 32 great-grandchildren.
Ann was a respected, long-standing member of the Bluff community and the wider Awarua Takiwā, contributing across generations to whānau, hapori, and kaupapa.
Ann is lying in state at home in Bluff. She will move to Te Rau Aroha Marae on Monday, 30 August, late afternoon, where friends/whānau are warmly encouraged to visit.
A service to celebrate Ann’s life will be held at Te Rau Aroha Marae on Tuesday, 1st September, commencing at 11.00 am.
