FLUTEY, Ian

Passed away on 2nd September 2026 after a determined battle, aged 91.

Dearly loved husband of Barbara for 67 years.

Much loved father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and a friend to many.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ian's life at a farewell gathering at Te Rau Aroha Marae, 8 Bradshaw Street, Bluff on Friday 11th September at 2.00pm.

Heartfelt thanks and respect to the staff and medical teams of Bupa Ascot Care and Hospice for helping a "straight shooting, tell it how it is, stubborn soul" transverse his final hurdle to rest.

Ian will be resting at home until the day of the funeral.

Hello Barbara and family. It’s with sad hearts when mum and I read of Ian’s passing. He was a truly great man and great friend to the Skinner’s. To the day’s when we trained horses for him and the trips we did on the oyster boat. The visits to Bluff to catch up and the return visits to Winton to see mum will be truly remembered. Please accept our sincere condolences and love to you all.
