To the extended Stevens family, I have been reflecting on a few things that I remember about Henderson, I remember him saying that a farmer should never get tired of tailing lambs or branding bales of wool , with out much prompting you could get an in-depth parliamentary roundup and a state of the economy talk, his up to date knowledge of current affairs was amazing, the last time I talked to Henderson was when the teachers were striking and he knew all the relevant details ! .When we were shearing for you boys, Henderson made sure the tally book was kept meticulous, and after a days work when you thought you would relax with the shearer’s and have a beer , Henderson would be hassling you to get sheep organised for the next day and checking that the bales had been marked correctly. How ever did he manage to drive down to Peters sheds with not great vision? Maybe the dents on the white car told a story. Ben said Henderson’s voice recognition app was excellent, in spite of no sight, and not seeing him for months ,when Ben saw Hendy and said giddy , he would reply Is that you Ben , and was alway keen for a yarn and liked to find out what he had been doing . This is truely the end of an era . Hold memories close , take care .

We were able to livestream the service on Tuesday and well done to you all for your efforts. Good to hear the contribution your Dad made to the Balfour community, unlikely to be matched, also his farming achievements. Wondering if the deterioration of his eyesight was manacular degeneration, which is an issue in my Dads family. Always sadness at this time and no doubt with passing of time you will recall many fine memories of your Dad. He certainly set a high standard to follow. Well done for the service and we pass on our condolences.
