Life will never be the same without my mate Murray. What a character and a great friend. We had so many intersets a like - Fire Bridage - Rugby - travel - family. We traveled to many parts of the world together.
So many memories of Murray will remain with me for ever.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Eileen and her family.

Eileen, sorry to hear the news. We got to know Murray through a shared interest in classic cars and enjoyed going on the Gore Vintage Car Club Tuesday Rambles with him. The Tuesday Ramblers join with us in sending sincere condolences.

First met Murray when playing junior rugby in Riverton many years ago. Our paths crossed on many occasions since and the conversation invariably consisted of discussions around the NZ Fire Service, which we were both a part of. Also first on the scene when I slipped of the end of the iron bridge many years ago due to black ice early one morning. Nice to see a photo of Murray with his fire brigade mates in a recent edition of the Wester Star. Sadly missed. My condolences to his family.

Sending our sympathies to you Eileen and family.. I met Murray as a teen ager when he worked at Wallacetown garage with my Mum ..Margaret Leonard. He had an awesome sense of humour and told a joke whenever we saw him around . The world will be a quieter place without him. God Bless. RIP MURRAY

It is with sadness that I have learnt about the passing of Murray. I remember having many beers with Muzza when I was teaching at Riverton. Alan (Murray's Dad) enjoyed the time we spent with him having a beer especially when we played for the same team. Murray was the person who had a great sense of humour and could diffuse a situation by making a joke about the situation. When I stayed with the family in the year of 1971 Murray was the person who always greeted me with his great big smile when he came in from his sleeping quarters. My thoughts go out to the Cleaver family at this time.
