May the constant love of caring friends soften your sadness, may cherished memories bring you comfort, may lasting peace surround your grieving heart. I always remember Bob arriving at the National Bank in Queenstown with a lovingly picked red rose from the hotel garden, in a glass coke bottle and standing in line to give it to you on Valentines Day Pauline, what a gesture of true love. Our condolences to you and your family.

Dear Pauline and Family, firstly my condolences at Bobs passing, I have some very happy memories of him during his last few years of Police service at Lumsden. I was at that time a Police Sergeant and Prosecutor for the District and regularly travelled to Lumsden on Court days, a duty I always enjoyed as you, Pauline, always put on a nice lunch. Bob, as Registrar of the Court always had things in order, his own prosecutions were "interesting" at times but always had a good ending albeit with different charges. I am sure Bob thought I was a bit pedantic at times and discussions often ended with a wry smile. I wish we had more Bob Gibsons in this world and I was pleased to see you had a 60 anniversary just days before he died, so congratulations on that. I shall end by wishing Bob to Rest in Peace and may the Peace of Christ rest in you and your family.
Neil (Ned) Cruickshank (Police Sgt Ret.), Invercargill

Dear Pauline and Family. So sorry not to be with you today but both Barry and I seem to have a bug at the moment and not a good thing to share. Thank you for making the service available on line as we both were there with you to enjoy the very fitting farewell to Bob. Such a lovely man and you two were such a well matched couple and so happy together. Our thoughts are with you all at this very sad time as you adjust to the changes you must now make. Love to you all.
