Dear Uncle Des and Family

Deana and I were sad to hear of this news of Auntie Kathleen. She was one of my favourite aunts and I loved coming to your place as a kid every Christmas for our annual clan gatherings. Thinking of you all during this difficult time, more so with COVID preventing some of you from being able to fly to NZ for the funeral.
Christine and Deana, Woy Woy NSW
Dear Des and Family,

I was so sorry to hear of Kathleen's passing. The few times we met, we had such a good time and she really made me feel part of the family.

One story from Christmas 2013 in particular makes me smile. I was trying to help with the dishes but my pace was apparently too slow for Kathleen. She saw how slow I was, jumped out of her chair, took the wash cloth out of my hand and relegated me to drying duty. I still couldn't keep up! We all had a good laugh.

She was a wonderful person and will be missed. My thoughts are with you.

To Uncle Des, Kevin, Joanne, Teresa, Dave, Terrence and Brendan,

I was greatly saddened to hear the news of Auntie Kathleen’s passing. She was a warm, patient and caring lady and a wonderful Auntie.

Some of my favourite childhood memories are of spending summers and family get-togethers at your place in Ryal Bush. Kathleen was a very welcoming person who took great pride in looking after all her guests and saw that they were well-fed!. What a fantastic baker and cook she was; her Marshmallow cake and Belgium slice were the best.

More importantly, she was a genuinely kind person who made everyone feel loved. We were all very fond of her and she will be missed.
