My condolences to you all. May you experience God's peace and comfort over this time and the days to come.
I enjoyed having Peter as my Social Studies teacher at SBHS in Yr 10 (1968) and then renewing the acquaintance as colleagues in the 80s, 90s and 00s at SBHS. I honour him as a caring, compassionate and Godly man. Thank you for all you imparted into the lives of students and staff.

All of us at Peter Downey’s Thursday Chat Group will miss him; his erudite conversation, his sense of humour and his friendship.
Life will be dull without him but we have a wonderful selection of memories we can turn to at future get-togethers.

Peter and I first became friends at Training College back in 1967. Later we both taught together at Southland Boys' High School for many years through the 1980's and 90's. Airdrie and I always enjoyed Peter's company and we will miss him. Our deepest sympathies to Linda and all of Peter's family.
