James and your whānau

We met at the library a few years ago and I really enjoyed our regular connects through The Chatter group. I am thinking of you at this time and we will see each other again some day somewhere.

Dear family. A dear friend, James. We had good times together, having our weekly coffee and cheese rolls at the museum. Also coming together with Marion and Rita at their place and ours I will always remember. James always saw the good in other people. Fare well my good friend.

We are very sorry to hear of the sad passing of James on Monday. I remember fondly, especially from my teenage years as a part time lodger, a kind, quirky and generous man who had a wonderful sense of humour.
Our thoughts and best wishes go to you all in this sad time.

We are sorry to hear of James’s passing. We always enjoyed his company and his sense of humour.
Our deepest sympathies go out to Marion and family.

I became an acquaintance of James when I was the barman at the Invercargill club in 1992, and then later a member of the club. James was one of the afternoon regulars and contributed well to the banter around the snooker tables with another regular, my father Des. Always a gentleman, often in bow tie and with a smile and some words of wisdom or opinion for the day, James would order his drink of choice the lemon-lime and bitters. Another identity and personality will be remembered in the long history of the club.
