Do not stand at my Grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn's rain,
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there.
I did not die.

He toka tū moana arā he toa rongonui.

Your strength is like a rock that stands in raging waters.

Dad you were solid and steadfast and someone who protected me from the Waves and at the end your strength and bravery was unwavering like a deeply rooted and mighty Kahikatea.

Thankyou for being my Father. I am so proud of you and you are so very precious to me.

I will love you forever Dad.

Grandad Eean

Our memories of you we will nevr forget from our first ever Truck rides, from mum & dad upset because somehow the girl’s white church dresses were covered in chocolate.
The biggest leason of all is “its a thumb not a finger” but the best and last memory of us all together will be the look on your face when you left Harlin incharge of the Ride on Mower and he chased us around the yard in it, you thought it was hilarious.

We Will Miss You Grandad

We were devastated to hear of Eeans passing last week. Since moving to Ashburton 9 years ago he (and Jennifer) became dear friends to so many including my Nana & Poppa who he was neighbours with. I wish I was able to thank him one more time for everything he did for them and to tell him how much they treasured his & Jennifer's friendship. He will hold a special place in our hearts forever. Sincere condolences to you all xx

Sending our heartfelt sympathy to our dear Jennifer, Isobel, Steven, Burt, Les, Kylie, Harlin, Savannah and Legacy. Eean was a treasured member of our family and we have some wonderful memories, from going on holiday with Jennifer and Eean around the West Coast when I was little to popping in for a coffee and yarn just a few months ago when he was last down south, and so much in between. We will miss him.

It is so hard to put into words the loss we are all feeling. This is not how we should be saying goodbye to someone who has shown so much love & care for everyone that entered his life. You were always like a 2nd Dad to me & grandfather to my kids. The urge to be standing in Winton watching over you in a few hours is overwhelming, but I know you would be telling me off if I did so. So I will sit at my computer & be there in spirit for you, just like I know all your loved ones will be there too. Sending so much love & support to Auntie Jennifer, Isabelle, Leslie & their families. We will take great care of Eean in Winton & he will be well visited.

The Begg family and wider whanau are devastated by the loss of Eean, who has lived next door to Kevyn and Iris Begg, Porter St, Ashburton for a number of years. Not only were he and Jennifer great friends to Iris and Kevyn, but when Iris passed away and Jennifer went into a Care Facility, Kevyn and Eean's friendship went from strength to strength. It was a great comfort to Kevyn's family as Eean was always there to help in any way he could if they were unable to. Our deepest condolences to Jennifer and his family. A truly lovely, caring man who will be greatly missed.
Jan Begg, Ashburton
