Norman Thomas (Norm)

Passed away on Friday, 15 October 2021, at Hospice Southland with his family by his side.  Much loved father and father in law of Tony*, Nicola, Jano and Jarrett, Mark and Ronda.  Grandad and Grandad Normy to Paegan and Jack, Ebonie and Kierran, Georgia, Lexie, Bradley, Daniel, Tom, Mikayla, Brydon, Hailee, Lissy, and Abby.  Loved brother and brother in law of Joe and Avis, Bill* and Mary*, Till* and Eric, Faye* and Brian, Arthur and Wendy, Dorothy and Harold*, Owen and Margaret, Gordon* and Claire*.  Loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews.  Norman’s wishes were to thank the Winton Medical Centre, Alyssa and the team at the Southland Hospital Medical Ward and Hospice Southland for their wonderful care and support.  Celebrations of Norman’s life will be held at the Travellers Rest Tavern, Drummond on Wednesday 20 October at 1pm followed by light refreshments.  A private cremation will follow.  Due to Covid restrictions, numbers will be limited to 100 but a livestream will be available to view Norman’s service.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at the service for Hospice Southland.

So sorry to read about Norms passing today, it instantly sent me back in time to all the fun we had when we were young, he was such a cool Dad (and grandad I bet!) I caught up with him a few times over the years, he was always the same as if I’d only just seem him even tho the gaps got bigger each time....so proud of all you guys, got the rundown each time on where and how everyone was. He will be sadly missed but always remembered, you are all in my thoughts.

Sad times and lots of great memories. Reflect smile and laugh as Uncle Norm would want, the banjo will be belting out those tunes I am sure ❣️ Some of us are far and wide, the world is a different place to when we made a choice, but our love and thoughts are never far xx much love to you all.
