Sorry to read of Alan's passing, my favourite tailor and good friend from "long ago". I can still picture his contagious smile and warmth.
Condolences. John

It is with deep regret that we say farewell to Alan from both the Masonic lodge fraternity and from our lives. Alan was a very good friend to me,especially in the latter time at Bupa., and he will be fondly remembered by both Jo and I .
Brian Padget, Invercargill
We were sorry to read of Alan’s death. He was a true gentleman with a wry sense of humour. He also was an encouragement to us both with how he coped with his illness. We hope his friends and our sympathy will be encouraging to you at this sad time.
Lorraine and Paul Cotter, Invercargill
Alan and Maureen a fabulous couple and Alan was one of the best. Kindest thoughts.
Faye Martin, Invercargill

It was with great sadness that we read of Alan's death. He was our last surviving Cross cousin and very much a part of our growing up years.. He will be sadly missed by his Jensen cousins.
Our love and sympathy to Maureen and family.
ELIZABETH SUMPTER, WAITATI
Our sincere Sympathy to your family at this sad time.
Jackie & David Finnie, Cromwell
Sorry to read of Alan's death. He was a fine man with his tailoring skills and membership of the board of Invercargill's YMCA where I was privileged to spend time with him. A gently spoken gentleman. I extend my sympathies.
Cam Weston , Dunedin
Deeply saddened to hear of Alan’s passing. He was a “true gentleman” is very sense of the word.
It was comforting to be able to listen to the tributes & memories during the live stream and we exceed our deepest condolences to Maureen & family.
John & Diane Lightfoot, Wanaka
Watching the online service for Alan took me back to 1964-65 when I boarded with Alan’s mother, and the Cross family welcomed me as one of the family. I have many memories, especially of lunchtimes every day in the happy atmosphere of the tailor’s workshop in Don Street. Alan was indeed a special person, and hearing people speak of his service to others in so many ways, is as I recall his character and love for life. I send loving thoughts and sympathy to Maureen and all Alan’s family.
Elizabeth (nee Lea), Dunedin
