I’m writing on behalf of my older sister Averil McLauchlan.
Averil herself is in care at Rowena Jackson.
She use to be a resident at Otatara and today she was telling me about Nancy and Geoff’s involvement with the Anglican Church at Black Road.
She said she helped out too. Mentioned as a Sunday school teacher but not sure about that!
Anyway I read the death notice out to her and she remembered Nancy and husband Geoff well and family members.
She sends her sympathy to all of you.

I have fond memories of Aunty Nancy on our family visits to Otatara. She was bubbly, gracious, kind and gentle woman. This kindness was shown in a difficult period of my life when Aunty Nancy and Uncle Geoff shared their home with me. when I was going through a divorce and redundancy. Aunty Nancy is someone special to remember with warmth, think of with pride and cherish with love. May the winds of heaven blow softly in your ear we love and miss you.
RIP Aunty
Your loving nephew Murray

Growing up in Otatara and being a regular visitor to my great friend Kerri’s family home, I have many fond memories of the warm, caring, and welcoming nature that was Mrs Piercy.

On the cold winter days I’d be delighted when Kerri would invite me over as I knew Mrs Piercy would have a warm kitchen and something freshly baked to eat. We could also enlist her skills to help us make the latest fashion item we just ‘had to have’.

As a student of the Anglican Church ‘Friday School’ classes Mrs Piercy had always been someone who guided and supported me and for that I am grateful.

I feel very privileged to have known Mrs Piercy in my formative years.

To my friend Kerri and the Piercy Family my thoughts are with you all.

God bless you Mrs Piercy and thank you.
