Our thoughts are with Bill and Doug’s close friends during this sad time. A huge shock.

Dougal is someone i have know for a very long time, he was always on for a yarn and a story or two, another identity of Balfour who will be missed by his family and friends. Rest easy buddy . David and Linda Fraser

Dougal we only knew you for a comparatively short time since moving to Balfour but want you to know what a pleasure it has been to know you. A real gentleman with a great sense of humor.
Fondest memories Ollie and Chris at the Balfour Tavern & DAIRY.

Deepest sympathy to Bill our thoughts are with you at this sad time. I will miss the banter and the discussions we had! Doug gave as good as he got, but all in good fun. Taken far too soon. Our families have had a long friendship. Rest in peace Doug.

Dougal, me ole cobber, way too early pal. Really gonna miss our wee ‘solve the world’ chats, ya sage advice, ya witty sense of humour, ya infectious smile, ya terrible jokes, but most of all your comradeship. We had some great roadies, and for what’s it worth you were always a better batsman than me. We doff our cap and bid you farewell. Rest In Peace fella, we’ll meet again. Bill, my sincere condolences, give the bro a helluva send off. Thinking of you all on Friday. Stirlo.

So sorry for your loss as a family. Fond memories from my mother Elaine Grant, where Doug had to rescue Mum from the gutter shed fallen in. May you memories help.

Old Buddy Dougal. A great community man who will be missed by many. Always good banter and a cheeky grin. Loved his cricket and the Balfour Rugby Club. So pleased you got to see the book published as you were one of the main drivers for that project. Rest easy mate.
