So sad to see this.
We had our ups and downs at BP but always respected the man.
RIP Norm
Willie, Invercargill
I always looked forward to his smile and twinkling eyes.
Norman and I first met in the dairy where I worked. He would come in for a newspaper, and we would have converse about the state of the world . I found him to be a gentleman at all times. One of our conversations was about feeding birds. I told him how my husband and I had moved from Riverton where we feed Tuis, wax eyes and bellbirds. He then said he often feed the sparrows etc that came to his home. It was then he said that some of the bread he often bought was for that purpose. On this particular morning there was no bread to buy, but I had a bag of crust ends from sandwich making...the rest is history. He would come for his paper and crust ends and he would share with me how he now had a substantial number of birds fly in for breakfast at his place. I will miss his smile, and the twinkle in his eyes...my heart felt condolences to his nearest and dearest

We are so sad to learn of Norman's passing. We got to know Norman through his daily visits to the Dairy for his News Paper. We so enjoyed his chats and his wealth of knowledge. He always talked about family with pride. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family
