KARRAN, Annette Mary.

On Monday, 11 April 2022 at Christchurch Hospital, after a short illness.  Peacefully and surrounded by her family. Aged 78 years.  Dearly loved wife and best friend of David, cherished mother of Bronwyn and Glenys, much loved Gran of Leon, Eva and Nate, and beloved mother-in-law of Marek and Mike.

The final puzzle solved, rest now my love.

A funeral service to celebrate Annette’s life will be held in J Fraser and Sons' Chapel, cnr. Esk and Doon Streets, Invercargill, at 2pm, on Thursday April 21. Kindly wear a mask if attending. Private cremation to follow. Special thanks to the staff of Southland and Christchurch Hospitals for their care. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Neurological Foundation may be left at the service. Messages to 112 Wilton Street, Invercargill and tributes may be left on Annette’s tribute page at frasersfunerals.co.nz/tributes, where a live stream of the service will also be available.

Thinking of you all at this very sad time. I have very fond memories of being part of your family in Kowhai Avenue. Much love from all of the Andrew family xx

We have such fond memories with Annette. From the many Christmases we shared together, to her teaching us at school. We always enjoyed visiting her and David as there was always something so interesting to do at their house, we will always remember being so excited to play the Lemmings game on their computer! Annette was a great cook, we remember all of the yummy salads she made, and the brandy snaps she brought to Christmas.
Each of us were lucky enough to have the dynamic duo of both Annette and David as teachers, this is something really special for each of us. As a teacher she was so calm and logical, she was supportive and approachable and made time to tutor each of us. We certainly owe a lot of our maths capabilities and enjoyment of learning to Annette. She had a good sense of humour and that definitely helped when dealing with the three of us.
She never seemed to ever age, both her and David were always keen to join in with games we were playing and she was always genuinely interested in what each of us were up to in our lives. It was awesome to spend time with her, she was a fountain of knowledge and we will each miss her.

To David, Bronwyn, Glenys and families, our deepest sympathies. I have fond memories of time spent with you, during my training in Invercargill. Annette will be sadly missed.

Sympathy to David and the Karran family on Annette passing away. I remember Annette very well as a master teacher of mathematics and enjoyed working with her as a teacher at Hargest in later years. Over the years there are teachers that you always remember well and Annette was one of them.
