Kathrena was such a special lady whom I met through the arthritis club many years ago. She always had a smile on her face and had a very caring nature to many. I will always treasure the memories of Kathrena and the kindness she showed to me and my family.

The last of the Woodlands clan has passed. Kathrena and Hugh were wonderful neighbours to our family. Such a kind lady, gentle and unassuming. No doubt there will be a good reunion in heaven. 😄. Sincerest sympathy to the family. She will be greatly missed but memories will forever be in your heart.

Was sad to read of Kathrena’s passing. Enjoyed knowing her over my years at Southland Enterprises and sincere condolences to John. I’m sorry I cannot be at the service but will watch the live stream.

Dear John, Marjorie, Allan and Eoin - My very special thoughts are with each one of you, and your families, as you say farewell to ‘Mrs McKenzie’ today. Your deep sadness is felt across the Tasman as one whom I have considered to be my second Mum throughout all my years is laid to rest. Rest Peacefully Mrs McKenzie.

Having just watched the touching service for dearest Kathrena I would like to send on my heartfelt condolences to her beautiful family. One of my earliest memories goes back to circa early 1948 when she delivered home two very small girls (sister Joyce and I), in the Schmidt family car, to their distraught mother after they'd strayed over the paddocks on an early life adventure. It was so great growing up with her and the McKenzies as our wonderful neighbours. Being able to catchup with her on visits home was always a highlight and now will be sorely missed. Her hearty chuckle and cheeky sense of humour I'll never forget. Can fully understand how she became such a precious Granny to those wonderful grandchildren there today. Love to all,
Jeanette Banks (Campbell), Byron Bay
