I worked under Marie's guidance as a newly registered nurse. She always had the patient's interest at heart, she was giving, she genuinely cared. Marie told a great story, work was enjoyable, she could make us laugh. I appreciated her mentorship as I was just starting out.. Sending my condolences to her family, may your precious memories wrap around you as mine are around me.

So very saddened to read of Marieā€™s death. She was a valued and loyal friend, who always cared about others - always gave 100% in her life & her nursing career. A fighter for Elm Court & other causes, and an always-to-be-counted-on reliable & loyal Labour Party member. Much valued for her warmth & good sense, & will be much missed. Deepest sympathy to Kerry and all the family.

Dear Mardie, you have one of the best of friends. I will miss you so very much. Thank you for all you have been to our family. For being there when our daughter was born, giving her first bath. Being there as Simon and Peta grew up. You shared your love of cooking, the wonderful creations of meals and many cheerful fun times held around the dining table.. I have many treasures thanks to our fossicing in second hand shops and so many good times over a cup of tea. Thank you for your listening ear, sharing your passions, your fights for the underdog, ardent support of the Labour party, Alzhiemers Society, meets on Wheels, Hospice and Ward 12. A wonderful charge nurse and patient advocate. You are much loved and dear.

Marie was one of the best nurse managers I have had the privilege to work under in Rimu Suite - Elm Court. It was a fantastic place to work due to Maries sense of humour, empathy and kindness shown to patients, family and staff. I am grateful for her mentorship and impact she had on my mental health nursing career. I would like to extend my sympathy to her family and my thoughts are with them at this sad time in their lives.
