Marion was a dear friend of Margaret and Brian Hall and we send our love and sympathy to Henk and all of the family. We made friends with Marion and Henk through our involvement at Windsor Presbyterian church in Invercargill - Marian worked tirelessly on a building committee for many years, was a member of the Property work group and volunteered for many activities in the church family - she was gentle, wise and showed the love of God in whatever she did. Margaret was for a long time the "church visitor" to Henk and Marion and enjoyed their hospitality and warmth of welcome. We know she will be sorely missed by all who knew her. We pray for her family in the death of a much loved lady.

Keith and Margaret Cook extend their sincere sympathy to the family of Marion van Buren, a gentle genuine personality. We befriended Marion through North Presbyterian Church, being involved in mutual interests and activities. Her generosity in trying to teach Keith to play the violin in his later years was much appreciated by him. Rest in peace Marion. It is time and well deserved

I got to know Aunty Marion, and Uncle Henk, in fact the whole van Buren clan, when I was a pimply faced man boy, stationed at Burnham with the army. She and Uncle Henk tolerated me on weekends when I needed some place that felt like home. I am forever grateful for those days. . Aunty Marion was such a loving, accepting, and kind lady who didn’t judge but whose steady faith helped me navigate army life as a young Christian. I love you Aunty Marion. RIP. My love and prayers go out to Uncle Henk, Jane, John, Diana, Tony and the wider van Buren family. May God comfort you during this sad time.
